Public consultation for the ban of lead shot for hunting within wetlands

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is the European regulatory authority to ensure the safety of chemicals. At the request of the European Commission, ECHA introduced a restriction proposal for lead compounds in shot. If the proposal is adopted by the European Union, lead shot will be banned on wetlands in all EU member States, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland. This restriction proposal is now subject to a public consultation for ECHA to collect comments and evidence on the issue. Anyone can participate.
