'Understanding the use of satellite tracking data to assess bird mortality in the African-Eurasian Flyway' project

Migratory birds face numerous threats at different stages of their annual cycle. It is imperative that more tagged migratory birds live to complete their journeys.

This project aims to investigate how satellite tracking can contribute to understanding mortality of migratory land birds  - diurnal raptors, storks, cranes, and bustards - and the challenges researchers face around identifying mortality events and interpreting such data.

Collaborators providing both summary and mortality event information will be invited to co-author any resulting papers. No raw data is being requested.

The deadline for contributing information is 31st May 2021.
